Skatepark app redesign concept
This project focused on a comprehensive UX/UI redesign of a dated skatepark location application (founded by Tony Hawk) that suffered from an obsolete early 2000s aesthetic and significant user friction.
My goal was to move beyond simple aesthetics to fundamentally restructure the user experience, delivering a clean, modern visual system and intuitive user flow. The outcome was a successful concept that transformed a challenging product into a seamless, contemporary solution for enthusiasts to quickly find skateparks tailored to their specific needs.
The resulting concept ended up getting awarded for best student work in Farnborough College of Technology in art & design, being displayed in Farnborough high street.
The original application suffered from a severely outdated User Interface (UI), characterized by square edges and an early 2000s style, which significantly hindered user adoption. My goal was not merely to modernize the look, but to fundamentally overhaul the entire User Experience (UX), optimizing the way users interact with the app, resulting in a cleaner, more intuitive, and highly functional digital product.
